Carpet Cleaning and the Various Methods

Home doesn’t feel like home without carpet. Caring for carpet is never a simple job, it is necessary to vacuum and rub vigorously if you expect to remove the grime, stains and dirt a carpet can hold. Not cleaning the carpet in the appropriate manner will cause the carpet to begin to show its age. As this occurs, removal and replacements of the carpets with new carpet takes place, making the first carpet seem to have been an expensive waste.

Through out time, numerous things have been tested for achieving clean carpets. Foam cleaning has been one way people use traditionally. Scrubbing a section of carpet at a time using a shampooing detergent that is expelled through the brush is the foam cleaning technique. After scrubbing all of the carpet, simply let it dry, this usually takes 2 hours. Once the area is dry it is time to remove the excess dirt by vacuuming.

Another cleaning method available for carpet is bonnet cleaning. In place of a brush, bonnet is used to scrub the carpet. It also cleans one area at a time, usually done by hand. This method takes more time to finish and does not actually remove the dirt but spreads it around the different areas of the carpet. Eventually, dirt will reappear, making a persons efforts useless.

Dry methods are also used to clean carpets. These methods are convenient for people who do not have time to spend the entire day cleaning. A powder is placed on the area of the carpet that is filthy. The dirt would eventually vanish as these powdered products claim. In reality, the powder stays on the carpet, leaving an undesirable mark that, as usual, attracts more dirt in the long run.

The carpet cleaning methods mentioned above are bettered by steam cleaning with is done by using hot water with a cleaning solution. It cleans the carpet thoroughly, removing dirt and stains that have been embedded into the weave. As the hot water is extracted through a tube, all imperfections are them removed from the carpet. With steam cleaning, it is recommended to vacuum the carpet painstakingly first. This will ensure that stains, dirt, sand, grit, and allergens are removed before finalizing the cleaning process with the steam method.
