Prolapsed Hemorrhoids Exposed
Hemorrhoids appear internally (internal hemorrhoids) and externally (external hemorrhoids). Prolapsed hemorrhoids are sometimes confused as being external hemorrhoids because they protrude out of the anus. Prolapsed hemorrhoids range in color from dark blue through to bright red ” in most instances they appear as a red lump of swollen tissue.
The most common hemorrhoid symptoms are itching or irritation of the anus (and anal canal), blood on the stool or toilet paper, felling that you can finish passing the stool, and pain during, before and after bowel movement. Prolapsed hemorrhoids can be very painful or not painful at all, it really depends on the severity of the hemorrhoid and how long you have had it for.
Hemorrhoids fall into 1 of 4 categories of seriousness; prolapsed hemorrhoids are 2nd degree to 4th degree hemorrhoids.
1st Degree: The first category is the least severe form of prolapsed hemorrhoids. This is when the hemorrhoid has not protruded out of the anal canal opening.
2nd Degree: 2nd degree hemorrhoids naturally move in and out of the anal opening without any assistance.
3rd Degree: 3rd degree hemorrhoids poke out of the anal opening and require manual insertion, they will not re-enter automatically without assistance.
4th Degree: This category of prolapsed hemorrhoids is by far the most serious. The hemorrhoid is not able to be re-inserted into the anus and a doctor should be consulted immediately.
Prolapsed hemorrhoids can be prevented the same say regular hemorrhoids can be prevented. Ensure you have a diet high in fiber, that you perform mild exercise often and that you dirnk plenty of water (to avoid dehydration). Avoid sitting or standing for long periods of time and never strain to remove the stool.
Several different hemorrhoid treatment options exist, which one is right for you depends most on the severity of your hemorrhoids. If you think you may suffer from a 4th degree prolapsed hemorrhoid, you should consult with your physician as soon as possible. For all other types of hemorrhoids, natural hemorrhoid cures seem to be very effective and are gaining in popularity.
